Those searching for Certified Nursing Assistant employment opportunities in California can find a vast array of CNA job postings at the California CNA Jobs website. The CNA job description is a bit different from one position to another, but generally the nurses assistant will help with various aspects of general patient care, including patient grooming, delivering medications, bathing, and things of that nature. CNAs, also sometimes referred to generically as "orderlies" or "nurses aides," typically work in hospitals, nursing homes, LTC facilities, SNF facilities and hospice care facilities. The California CNA Jobs website features positions in these traditional environments as well as private positions in patients' homes. Among the hospitals requiring CNAs in California are Kindred, Newport Bay Hospital, Alta Bates Medical Center, California Institute of Nursing, Sharp Memorial Hospital, Good Samaritan, USC University Hospital, Mt. Zion, St. Francis Memorial Hospitals and literally hundreds of others. Because California is such a large state, both geographically and by population, the need for experienced healthcare professionals is much greater than in many parts of the country. Though the population of CA is not particularly old when compared with the nation as a whole, the sheer volume of people throughout the state has results in a plethora of CNA job opportunities. CNA jobs are available in all of the state's major cities, like Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Oakland and others, as well as smaller and mid-sized cities like Modesto, Costa Mesa, Berkeley and hundreds of others. While CNA training classes are necessary to become a Certified Nursing Assistant, the courses are typically intense but short in duration.
